Let Faith Become a Habit!
I remember the first time I flew. I was 1981 and I was flying from London to Austria to work there for 10 days. I remember as the airport bus approached the airplane how big it seemed and I began to have thoughts like "How does that stay in the air?" and "Its much bigger and looks much heavier close up?"
My inexperience of flying was causing me to have all sorts of random thoughts, which varied from "amazing" to "If God had meant me to fly, He would have given me wings!"
As the plane left the runway and I was pinned back in my seat my heart was racing and my knuckles were white. Then I glanced out of the window and saw the ground rapidly disappearing, I guess you could say I was terrified!!
Now, 30 years later, I have flown all over the world. I have flown above storms, through storms had bouncy landings and an aborted landing (that was interesting!) But now nothing surprises me that much and my expectation is always that things will be ok.
So what changed? Well the more I flew the more confident I became that it would be ok. Experience!!
It's the same with our faith, the more we trust God, place our faith in Him and see that He will never let us down, the easier it becomes to do it the next time.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. ...
True faith rests in the promises of our God...
